Dot Matrix explores perception, spatial illusion, and patience through a strictly minimalist approach. Executed in acrylic on natural linen canvas, every single black dot was individually painted by hand without the use of stencils. When viewed straight-on, the composition presents a heavily stretched, abstract pattern of black dots across a stark white background. As the observer steps to the left, the anamorphic perspective aligns, causing the dots to converge into a detailed, focused eye. Signed on the back, Dot Matrix turns a simple black-and-white halftone technique into a dynamic optical experience.

How to View This Artwork

Front view: The artwork may look abstract when viewed up close in person. On a phone or computer screen, the smaller image may give you a better idea of the final result.

Side view: The realistic image appears when viewed from the correct angle, either from the left or right, as indicated in the product description.

Want to preview the effect? Open the frontal product image and tilt your phone slightly to the left or right, depending on the indicated viewing angle. On a computer, turn your screen approximately 60–70° to the corresponding side and take a photo with your phone. This will give you a better idea of the anamorphic effect.

The real magic happens in person!

Important care instructions

Once your artwork arrives, please remove it from the protective packaging as soon as possible.

For prints and canvas artworks shipped rolled in a tube, do not leave the artwork stored inside the tube for an extended period. Carefully unroll it and allow it to rest flat in a clean, dry environment.

As these artworks are hand-finished and carefully prepared, prolonged storage in a rolled or enclosed condition may cause unwanted creasing, curling or surface pressure.

For canvas artworks, we recommend having the piece professionally stretched and framed after arrival.

Please handle the artwork with clean, dry hands and avoid placing anything directly on the painted or printed surface.

This should keep the artwork in the best possible condition from the moment it arrives.
