Beyond the Surface
A striking contemporary portrait created entirely through layered acrylic and glitter, Beyond the Surface explores depth, light and perception without using conventional painted imagery. Four transparent acrylic layers are individually treated with varnish and different intensities of black glitter, from softer and more distant applications to denser areas, creating the different tonal values that form the face.
The result is a serious, partially revealed young face emerging from a clean white background. As the surrounding light changes — particularly under artificial light in the evening — the glitter catches and reflects light differently across each layer. Moving around the artwork makes the surface appear to shift and come alive, revealing new highlights, shadows and details.
The artwork is presented in a black frame with a clear glass front, adding another physical layer between the viewer and the portrait.
Condition
Due to the nature of the acrylic layers and the handmade construction, there are a few very small surface marks visible on close inspection. These do not significantly affect the overall appearance or visual impact of the piece and are disclosed for complete transparency.
Display
Due to the layered acrylic construction, glass front and overall weight of the framed artwork, Beyond the Surface is particularly suited to being displayed leaning against a wall on a console, sideboard, shelf or other stable surface.

All orders will be processed in 5 to 15 working days. We give our best to pack your order as soon as possible. Most of orders will arrive within 10 business days. Counting from the date when the order is dispatched (not from the time when you placed the order). We advice you to wait up to 30 days for delivery. You will receive a notification when your order is complete. Sometimes it might not be possible to pack and send them right away. We ask for your understanding. Delivery of completed orders will be made on our carefully selected courier companies or any other delivery services at the discretion of Odeith Store.
Shipping
To ensure the safest possible international delivery, the canvas is carefully removed from its stretcher bars, rolled, and shipped in a heavy-duty protective tube.
This method significantly reduces the risk of transport damage. Upon arrival, the artwork can be professionally re-stretched and framed by a local framer according to the collector’s preference.
